CPD Seminar on Drug Trafficker Cases

Legalwise Seminars is offering a series of CPD seminars for lawyers under the banner Criminal Law Symposium on Thursday 26 March 2015.

I will be presenting on the topic of Drug Trafficker cases under the Criminal Property Confiscations Act 2000 (WA). I will address:

• Time frames and necessary skill sets
• Taking instructions and preparing your client (including how to get paid)
• How to respond to freezing notices (both for an accused, and for a third party) and
• Will also briefly touch on the other streams in the Criminal Property Confiscation Act 2000 (WA) as well as the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (Cth).

I will be taking a practical approach to the topic, which will assist practitioners in handling freezing notices, drug trafficker declaration applications under the Misuse of Drugs Act and finally applications for declarations of confiscation.
