CPD Seminar on Drug Trafficker Cases

Legalwise Seminars is offering a series of CPD seminars for lawyers under the banner Criminal Law Symposium on Thursday 26 March 2015.

I will be presenting on the topic of Drug Trafficker cases under the Criminal Property Confiscations Act 2000 (WA). I will address:

  • Time frames and necessary skill sets
  • Taking instructions and preparing your client (including how to get paid)
  • How to respond to freezing notices (both for an accused, and for a third party) and
  • Will also briefly touch on the other streams in the Criminal Property Confiscation Act 2000 (WA) as well as the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (Cth).

I will be taking a practical approach to the topic, which will assist practitioners in handling freezing notices, drug trafficker declaration applications under the Misuse of Drugs Act and finally applications for declarations of confiscation.

Legalwise is pleased to offer my instructing solicitors registration for the afternoon session at the early bird rate of $360, rather than $460, right up to the day of the seminar. More information on what will be covered in the other sessions is available in the Legalwise brochure.
